LANE TRAIN ON EXPRESS MODE IN GREAT SOUTHERN

WRITTEN BY SCOTT HAMILTON | IMAGES BY WESTERN RACEPIX

Michael Lane's Great Southern racing season has kicked off handsomely with two nice recent wins.

Trade War recorded a victory on November 30 when Cassey Martinan steered the well credentialed gelding home at odds of $8.50 on TABtouch!

On the same meeting, Lucky Landing managed a fourth to Ex Sport Girl.

Bringing four horses down from Bunbury to Albany this week, Lane walked away with another winner and a second. Simply Rosso and Kyra Yuill copped plenty of pressure in the lead but had enough left in the tank at the end of the 1100m journey.

Rockaria, trained by Tom Wolfe, was eye-catching in second and entered a few black-books following a tough effort.

Lane's placing on the card came from Lucky Landing who was almost able to go all the way over the 1240m trip.

Michael Lane is currently striking at 23% on provincial tracks, with $151,114 banked from 35 country starts.
